HOW THE CERTIFICATION PROCESS WORKS
Our number one goal for the certification process in Strategic Mindfulness is that you can actively implement what we teach in the course into your career. As such, this course has a healthy balance between theory and practice. As with any course, you will get the most out of your experience with us if you actively seek opportunities to engage in the practical inner development tools we teach you.
Together with your cohort we meet each Friday evening at 6pm Bangkok time virtually via Zoom. Each session focuses on a module topic, with specific strategies being taught that will help you develop your Strategic Mindfulness capabilities (there are 4 modules in total for the L1 certification course). To ensure you gain the most from this course, we ask that you fill in a mindfulness assessment prior to commencing the course, an then once again at the end of the course. This will help us both assess the impact the course has made in your life and your professional career.
In addition, you will be asked after each Zoom coaching call to apply the methods covered in that call the following week at work. In our final week, and prior to you filling in your final mindfulness assessment you will be asked to integrate all the Strategic Mindfulness tools we have taught you thus far into that week at work. Think of this as your culmination practice.
To receive your certification, you will be required to record a 5 to 10 minute video of your experience throughout the Strategic Mindfulness course, and what you have been able to achieve. While you can opt-out, we would love it if you gave us permission to share your video with others in your cohort, and the wider security and risk management professional community.
The best video presentation will be awarded the Strategic Mindfulness certificate with MERIT
MODULE 1: GROUNDED THINKING
Thinking clearly in a crisis can mean the difference between success or failure. However, your embodied state is primed for survival when facing a threat. This leaves your ability to think calmly and clearly largely ineffective. In this module we look at how to regain control of intentional clear thinking in the midst of chaos.
MODULE 2: ATTITUDE EMBODIED
The Thinking Mind and your body are not separate but one. They work in relation to one another. Change one, and you can change the other. Knowing how this process works, and having specific tools you can apply are essential to becoming strategically mindful.
MODULE 3: MINDFULNESS-IN-ACTION
Success in dealing with a crisis, is what you do moment to moment. It is only in the present moment, with a clear, and emotionally regulated inner experience that you can do your best work. In this module we look at ways to harness the power of the present moment for optimal management of yourself in moments of crisis management.
MODULE 4: EXHALE
At the heart of Strategic Mindfulness is knowing how to effectively manage your nervous system. Learning to speak to your nervous system through the language of breathe, will enable you to manage intense feelings that arise when faced with crisis events. The outcome: the ability to show up with a calm presence, a focused attitude, and with excellent emotional regulation in crisis events.
